God's words to Jeremiah have been an encouragement to me for many years. I remember claiming their promise in the midst of ongoing disaster, not knowing how or when the hope they spoke of could be fulfilled. I discovered, among other things, that God is, indeed, a jealous God and requires that we are seeking"Him" (not our own kingdom) and that we seek Him with "all our heart." He has no interest in competing with our dreams. It can be a hard lesson. The end result is that we realize we are here for only one purpose. In that purpose is abundant life.
