Wow! I have some tee shirts that I'm not even sure what the logos or words represent. Is that scary or what? I have one that is the name of a car racing organization - someone who owns one or more cars. NASCAR it think but I don't know. I picked it out because it looked cool and I didn't think the organization could be bad...but I don't know, do I? I don't know anything about the person or organization that is emblazoned across my shirt. By wearing that tee shirt I become an "ambassador" for someone or something and I'm ignorant of what I am representing.
Today's verse starts out with "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ; certain that God is appealing through us..." (2 Corinthians 5:20a). We need to be careful about the signals that our attire broadcasts. No question about that. However, what we say and what we do can often convey a more lasting impression about who we are and who it is that we represent. God is appealing (to others) through us!
