God gave a kingshp to Saul but Saul was willful and God eventually said "I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not carried out My commands." 1 Samuel 15:11a NASB.
Consider 1 Peter 3:9-10 "But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY." NASB
Has our God established us as royalty? Is He happy or unhappy with that?
